The major aim of this RA is the identification of novel membrane protein complexes. Several different strategies will be followed to capture specific features of membrane PPIs and in particular, measure these PPIs in their natural cellular context. It is essential that cells retain their in vivo characteristics to explore membrane protein PPIs, as they often depend on the proteins being in a particular cellular location at a specific time (RA2), which may only occur in polarized cells.
The methods we aim to utilize minimizes errors, selection biases, detection of non-specific PPIs, and aspects of the techniques have previously been successful for studies of other membrane proteins
