InterPrET aims to become one of the world leaders at investigating PPIs of membrane proteins and an internationally recognized membrane protein research/training center.
The objectives that we expect to accomplish through integrating the expertise of center members and collaborative networks are to:
- develop new strategies for identification of membrane protein complexes in epithelial cells (2012-2015)
- elucidate physiologically relevant membrane PPIs in their natural cellular environment (2012-2016)
- establish techniques to isolate dynamic and transient PPIs that can be applied to other fields (2012-2015)
- exploit high-res imaging to study the dynamics of membrane protein complex assembly (2013-2016)
- establish general mechanisms and bioinformatic models for PPI function (2014-2016)
- deliver trained interdisciplinary researchers for the academic and pharmaceutical fields (2012-2016)
- become a major hub for an extensive international research network on membrane PPIs (2012-2016)
